NEXT weekend the North Worcestershire Vintage Tractor and Engine Club will once again be holding its annual vintage gathering.

The event, at S E Davis in Astwood Bank, offers a wide and varied display of vehicles including steam traction engines, tractors, classic cars, military and commercial vehicles.

However, this year will have an extra special attraction.

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) is one of the most iconic air display teams in the world, and will be performing on both days.

On Saturday, the BBMF Dakota will carry out a fly past over the event on its way to a display over Cardiff while on Sunday, a Spitfire and Hurricane will make a fly past before heading home to RAF Coningsby.

A spokesman for the event said: "The BBMF's aircraft are highly prized and their limited flying hours extremely precious.

"We're enormously privileged to have been accepted to receive a fly past by aircraft on both days of our vintage gathering - they should provide an exciting spectacle in the skies of Redditch."

In addition to the BBMF there will be steam ploughing and tractor pulling as well as fairground attractions, trade stands, crafts and models.

The vintage gathering is on Saturday, June 14 to Sunday, June 15 and starts at 10am.

All money raised will go toward The County Air Ambulance.
