TWO Redditch schools have joined the RSA family of academies in a move described as "truly unique within Redditch".
Abbeywood First and Church Hill Middle schools made the move at the start of year, which promises numerous benefits and improvements for students.
Di Smith, executive headteacher of Abbeywood First School RSA Academy and Church Hill Middle School RSA Academy, said: "I’m very proud to be executive headteacher of these two schools and be part of the RSA family of academies.
"This is an exciting time for the children and for staff of all the RSA academies. Students in Redditch will benefit from collaboration, sharing outstanding practice, and seamless transition from ages three to 19.
"Children will have access to a wide range of resources as well as collaboration of teaching and learning. The children and their families will also benefit from the easy transition from Abbeywood First School all the way through to Arrow Vale."
She added: "This is truly unique within Redditch."
In preparation for the change, students and staff from Abbeywood and Church Hill joined students and staff from RSA Academy Arrow Vale and Ipsley CofE RSA Academy for a day of workshops.
Guy Shears, Principal of RSA Academy Arrow Vale said that the move was good news for the community.
