FIRE services tackled a car fire on the M42 near Redditch.
One lane was closed leading to slow traffic due to the vehicle fire on M42 Southbound between J3A M40 and J3 A435 (Portway / Redditch).
The incident was reported by Highways England at 3.40pm this afternoon (Sunday, April 8).

Highways England confirmed the blaze was extinguished just after 4pm but added one lane remains closed for vehicle recovery.

All lanes re-opened by 5.15pm and there were no serious injuries in the incident.
Vehicles have been cleared to the hard shoulder, and all lanes have reopened on the #M42 southbound within J3A following a collision. All lanes also open again on the #M40 link road. No serious injuries fortunately. Delays remain but should now start to clear.
