A REDDITCH woman was handed a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) following a series of incidents in the town including theft and threatening behaviour.

As part of the two-year order, Coral McDonald, of Sandhurst Close, must not sit or loiter outside Morrisons in the Churchill Centre or behave in any way that causes, or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

The 25-year-old is banned from sitting or loitering within 10 metres of any automated cash machine or in any public thoroughfare with any sign, item or animal, or holding her hand out to any person in a way that would reasonably give the impression that she is begging or intending to beg.

She must not allow visitors at her home address to cause any noise or disruption that may cause distress to nearby residents.

McDonald must not refuse to leave any commercial, private or public spaces when directed to by someone with the authority, and not live in or occupy property in the town without a legal or authorised right.

She was given the CBO at Redditch Magistrates' Court on Monday (June 21).

Sergeant David Roberts said: "We have successfully secured a CBO prohibiting Coral from behaving in an anti-social manner.

"This was granted after a series of incidents including theft, threatening and intimidating behaviour and disturbances caused by Coral within Redditch.

"I hope the conviction and CBO provides reassurance to local retailers and residents that the police will take positive action to make our communities safer."

Members of the public are encouraged to report any breaches of the order via westmercia.police.uk, by calling 101, or by contacting their Safer Neighbourhood Team officers directly.
