NEW research has revealed the top 10 UK areas for the most electric vehicles – and Redditch features very high on the list.

The borough features in second place with 4,684 licenced electric vehicles per 100,000 people in 2022.

DriveElectric has looked at the number of green spaces, electric vehicles, energy consumption, CO2 emissions and other factors to reveal the UK’s greenest areas.

The research revealed there are 23 public EV charging devices in Redditch per 100,000 residents.

And in 2022 there were 84,915 ICE licenced vehicles, which are traditional engines powered by petrol and diesel, per 100,000 people in Redditch – the 10th most in the UK.

Coming out on top for the most electric vehicles in the UK is Westminster which has 6,129 licenced EV vehicles per 100,000 in 2022.

At the other end of the scale, Kingston upon Hull has the fewest electric vehicles in the UK with just 141 EVs registered per 100,000.
