PEOPLE have shared their shock after a car plunged from the tenth level of a multi-storey car park in Redditch.

The car became wedged after crashing through barriers and falling at Car Park 2 at Kingfisher Shopping Centre yesterday (Thursday, November 2).

Witnesses have said a mum and teenage daughter were rescued from the car.

They suffered injuries not believed to be serious and were taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

Witness Niki Swingler described hearing a "horrific" noise and seeing smoke.

On Facebook, Niki said: "We went to help, along with some others get the lady and her daughter out of the car, a doctor was in the queue of cars and she came to help out.

"Another lady there had seen them go off the 10th floor. They were very lucky to survive, must have been absolutely terrifying for them both. I hope they are ok".

Vicky Peace said: "It was shocking. I saw it fall and rang 999. The noise was shocking, glad mother and daughter was ok".

Carol Cooper said: "We were parked just above it, couldn't believe someone wasn't hurt".

"That was the last thing we expected to see".

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 12.03pm on Thursday to a collision involving a car nearby to the multistorey cark park on Silver Street, Redditch.
