AN 18-year-old from Redditch has been jailed for his role in supplying class A drugs.

Harvey Peach, of Upper Fields Close, was found guilty at Worcester Crown Court of being concerned in the supply of crack and heroin, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of criminal property and failing to stop for police.

The teenager was arrested and charged following an operation carried out by officers from the North Worcestershire’s County Lines Team and Roads Policing Officers into the ‘Emz’ County Line.

West Mercia Police officers identified Peach as possibly dealing from his Ford Fiesta.

Back in September this year, officers attempted to stop the vehicle before he made off through Sainsbury’s car park in Redditch before dumping the vehicle and running off.

Peach was detained shortly after the chase, and officers searched his car and found a large hunting knife and mobile phone, which contained evidence of supplying crack cocaine and heroin.

At Worcester Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday, November 22) Peach was given a 26-month sentence for drugs and driving offences, a four-month sentence for possessing an offensive weapon and ordered to pay £1,125.

Following the sentencing, DC David Laver has urged those with concerns about drug crime to contact police.

He said: “We welcome the sentence that has been handed to Peach, and I hope this sentence will give a clear message to anyone who is involved in drugs that we will do all we can to stop them.

"If you have any concerns about drug crime, I urge you to contact us because working alongside our communities is a major part of tackling drug crime.”
