Volunteers from the Redditch Labour Party delivered more than 300 meals for local residents on Christmas Eve this year.

Now in its 13th year, the initiative has become a solid tradition to help spread the Christmas cheer and provide hot food for those who need it.

The volunteers worked together to create a delicious hotpot full of carrots, meat and peas with councillor Bill Hartnett for Church Hill taking control in the kitchen.

Councillor Joe Baker for Batchley and Brockhill said: "I am really proud of our members and volunteers who worked really hard to do this for our residents.

"Redditch Labour is a family and we look after our wider community donating our time and energy to provide this every year.

"We care about Redditch and we hope we have made a difference over the festive period."

The Redditch Labour Party has also thanked friends and members for donating money to fund the project as well as Morrisons for a gift voucher and St Andrew's Church for allowing the team to use its kitchen and premises on Christmas Eve.
