AN 85-year-old man was found dead after a report of a "concern of welfare" from Alexandra Hospital.
West Mercia Police have confirmed that they responded to a report from the Redditch Hospital on New Year's Eve at 10.30pm.
The force has said a man was found deceased nearby later on and that his next of kin have been informed.
In a statement, West Mercia Police said: "We responded to a report of a concern of welfare from the Alexandra hospital in Redditch, Worcestershire around 10.30pm on Sunday 31 December.
"Sadly an 85-year-old man was found deceased nearby.
"Next of kin have been informed"
