POLICE want to hear from witnesses after a teenager was attacked by a gang of seven boys near a pub.

Officers in Redditch have launched an appeal following the assault that took place on Friday (16 February) near the Matchborough Centre.

West Mercia Police have said that a teenager was assaulted by a group of approximately seven teenage boys, aged around 14 to 16, near to the The Old Sticky Wicket pub at about 8pm.

PC Carita Caldicott, from the Redditch Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this attack or may have information about it to get in touch with us please.

“It happened at around 8pm when people would have been in the vicinity so we are hopeful somebody can assist us with our enquiries.
