A MAN who fell from the roof of an apartment block after an "altercation between in a group" remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Police in Redditch are hunting for two men after a man in his 20s fell from the roof of Threadneedle House on Alcester Street last week.

West Mercia Police said a firearm had not been discharged after residents started speculating online about hearing gunshots.

The incident happened at around 2pm on Thursday, March 7, with the man being rushed to hospital on blue lights.

Officers said that initial enquiries suggested there was an altercation between a group of people on the roof shortly before the man fell.

Last week, detective Inspector Warren Matthews said: "You will continue to see extra officers around Threadneedle House today as we continue our investigation.

"We understand this incident has caused concern and I would like to reiterate that there is no wider risk to the public. Despite some speculation, we can confirm that a firearm was not discharged during the incident.

"If you were in Alcester Street or the surrounding area yesterday afternoon and saw the man fall or saw any unusual activity, please contact me.

"I would also like to speak to the two men who were on the roof at the time of the incident as they will be able to help with our enquiries and, again, I would ask these men, or anyone who knows who they are, to get in contact with me."
