POLICE have issued an update after a firearm was discharged in Redditch yesterday (Tuesday, March 26). 

Officers swooped on Ombersley Close in Woodrow in the afternoon after a bullet hole was found in a vehicle. 

Police said it's believed no one was hurt in the incident and that there isn't a wider risk tot he public. 

They confirmed that enquiries are being carried out to "establish the circumstances and thoroughly investigate the incident".

Superintendent Damian Pettit said: “I understand that incidents of this nature bring great concern to the community. As a result, we have extra officers in the area to engage and provide reassurance to the public ‘

“Thankfully, nobody has been injured during this incident. 

"We believe the people concerned left the area following the incident and extensive investigations are taking place to locate those responsible as soon as possible.

“We do not believe there to be a risk to the wider public and I would like to thank people in the area for their patience and support as we continue to carry out our investigation."
