A care home worker's hard work and dedication has been honoured with a prestigious award.

Caroline Paul, a care assistant at Millcroft Care Home in Redditch, won the 'Kindness in Care Award' at the Ideal Care Awards.

These awards aim to highlight the commitment and resilience of team members across all 36 of the provider's carehomes.

This year's event saw over 1,000 nominations across seven categories, including Care Team Member of the Year and the Home of the Year Award.

There was also a special category named the Resident Outstanding Contribution Award recognises the lively residents who enrich their care homes with their participation in activities and being the life and soul of their homes.

Ms Paul was celebrated for her ability to foster a culture of kindness in the home.

The awards judges applauded her for forming bonds, making friends and nurturing good relationships, bringing happiness to everyday moments and enriching the lives of the residents.

Her award win was announced at a glamorous ceremony held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in the East Midlands on Wednesday, April 17.

The event was hosted by celebrity guest Shaun Williamson.

Upon receiving her award, Ms Paul said: "I am honoured to receive this award and would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved.

"Special thanks go to Lyndsay Sard, our Home Manager, whose encouragement has been instrumental in my success."

Ms Sard added: "I really couldn’t be prouder Caroline for winning this award, as it means so much to her and the team at Millcroft.

"Caroline’s recognition in the Kindness in Care award stands for what we aim to deliver every day, and it is a true reflection of her hard work and dedication.

"Well done Caroline."
