COLONEL ACW Hobson of Feckenham Road, Redditch, went to Buckingham Palace on Tuesday to receive from the queen the OBE which he was awarded in the New Year’s Honours list in January.
The award was in recognition of his work for the Birmingham National Insurance local Appeal Tribunal, of which he is chairman.
Colonel Hobson, who is the eldest son of the late Alderman GW Hobson JP, has a long and distinguished military record.
He has received many awards for his service, among them being the Military Cross.
