A REDDITCH man who works at the town's Halifax bank branch has been arrested on suspicion of stealing £700,000.
West Mercia Police has confirmed that a 25-year-old Redditch man was arrested on Wednesday, August 8, on suspicion of theft, fraud and money laundering.
A police spokesman said: "The arrest relates to an allegation that around £700,000 had been taken from an account used to supply funds to an ATM machine at the town's Halifax branch between September 2011 and July 2012.
"The man has been released on police bail while officers from the force's Economic Crime Unit investigate the incident."
A Halifax spokesman said they were assisting the police with their inquiries but would not be making any further comment at this time.
The man was bailed until October.
