REDDITCH United boss Liam McDonald continued his summer recruitment drive by adding central midfielder Simeon Maye to his squad.
The 19-year-old has signed after a fantastic season for Midland Alliance side Boldmere St Michaels.
The youngster was a promising member of Birmingham City's youth team academy but his career was stalled by injury and he was released.
But after recovering he was one of St Michaels' best players, captaining the team on occasion, as they finished second last season
Maye is one of a number of gifted younger players drafted in by McDonald, with Jamie Spencer (Rushall), Dan Scarr (Causeway), Jordan Jones and Tom Fishwick (Banbury) already brought in.
The Reds boss also hopes to bring in another midfielder from a club which plays at the third level of the non-league pyramid.
"I have been really pleased with the players we have managed to bring in," commented McDonald.
"Almost all of the guys I wanted have joined so I couldn't be happier."
Meanwhile, McDonald has revealed that player of the season Callum Flanagan and Ashley Sammons rebuffed offers from other clubs to remain at the Reds.
The pair had already agreed to play for United during the 2014-15 Calor Southern League campaign but the recent deal to keep McDonald and his coaching staff Nick Green and David Bridgewater at the club ensured they rebuffed interest from other clubs.
"Once players knew that we were going to be here next season, it persuaded them to stay," commented McDonald.
"This is only my second summer as Redditch manager and I am learning some of the dark arts that managers employ at this time of year.
"But Callum and Ashley wanted to stay once they knew the management team were staying. The stability that provides encourages people to stay at the club.
"There are clubs with much bigger budgets than Redditch and if a player's motivation is money then I would tell them we are not for them.
"But we are a tight knit group and that's more important."
Meanwhile, McDonald has also drafted in Simon Phillips as a goalkeeper coach to work with Bradley Catlow and Sam Hornby. The club are also planning to use video footage to analyse home matches.
United commence their pre-season training on Saturday.
