BROMSGROVE’S Artrix will be staging Opera for the first time tomorrow Friday, September 16.

Mid Wales Opera will be bringing its production of Madame Butterfly, sung in an English translation and accompanied by the Mid Wales Opera Chamber Orchestra, to the arts centre.

The tragic love story of Coo Coo, a young geisha girl, and the American Naval Officer Pinkerton, has resonated across the musical world since Puccini first wrote it.

With some of the most sumptuous music ever written for the opera stage, including the dramatic aria One Fine Day, this will be an intimate, beautiful and heartrending experience for all opera lovers.

The performance starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £25 (£23 concessions) and are available from the box office on 01527 577330 or online at artrix.co.uk.
