GARY Powell of The Libertines fame will be taking to the decks to launch a new alternative club night in Birmingham.
The drummer, a self-declared Brummie, will be playing a set filled with indie classics (and also meeting fans) as part of the very first Control night.
Held at Vudu, Control will see three rooms blasting out the best of the best guaranteeing something for everyone.
In the first room, Intervention, there will be indie classics, alternative and Britpop from the last four decades.
Room two, Revolution, entertains the most memorable pop, garage, soul and funk tunes from the 1960s while room three, Radar, will be spinning the best in up and coming music.
The launch night, on September 26 starting at 10.30pm, features a number of special offers, resident DJs, Rob Munns (a Club NME and Koko resident DJ in London) and of course Gary.
