AFTER raising more than £6,000 for Oxfam last year, OxjamBrum will once again be taking over across Birmingham city centre.

With more than 25 acts playing at six venues, including some of the very best in local artists, this year’s event, on October 15, promises to be something special.

Oxjam is a music festival made up of hundreds of events around the UK in October.

These events are organised by people who know and love their local music scene - and all in aid of Oxfam, the leading aid and development charity.

Fresh from this year’s Glastonbury and Shambala festivals punk reggae rockers 360 will be headlining the event.

They will be joined by alt-popsters Young Runaways who are releasing their EP There Is A World Outside and other acts including The Carpels, Romans and Vijay Kishore.

And, if that’s not enough, although the event will wind down after midnight – it is not the end.

There will be an official Oxjam afterparty at the newly renovated Birmingham Ballroom (formerly the Academy / Hummingbird) which includes a set by Birmingham’s The Bluebeat Arkestra and local DJ Josh Mooney (Tantrums, Rag & Bone).

All money raised on the day will go toward Oxfam and its continuing work in almost 100 countries to try and find lasting solutions to poverty and injustice.
