PINSENT Joan Margaret On December 22nd 2016 peacefully in Cornwall aged 84 years, formerly of Headless Cross. Mother of Diana and Andrew, mother-in-law to Mike, a dear nan and sister. Sadly missed by all her family. Any enquiries please to Bodmin Funeral Services 01208 78300

Dear Diana & Andrew,
So sorry to hear of the passing of Joan, such a strong lady in every sense and a true grafter. I have many happy memories from my time at "Smiths Stores", this gave me confidence and maturity and led me to a job at Barclays at the age of 16 (so scary I'm soon to be 53, where has the time gone).
I remember John and his fondness for Mars bars but he always managed to get caught in the act by Joan, so funny.
I moved away to Chesterfield where I lived for 17 years, I am now settled in Buxton. I did get to see Joan after selling the shop, albeit a good few years ago.
I lost my Uncle suddenly on Boxing Day and whilst looking yesterday to see if a notice had been published I saw yours, and my heart sank.
I remember you both as clear as day and hope life has been kind to you, I hope Andrew has put on a few pounds since I last remember and his diet consists of more than "Frosties". I will never forget the day he fell through the glass door and we ended up at Selly Oak hospital, gave me such a scare but he soon mended bless him.
Diana you were a bright spark and always loved to help out.
I hope Joan did not suffer, she managed a good age of 84, I will always be grateful to her and will raise a glass in her memory.
My thoughts are with you.
