THE Ragley estate is hosting its fourth Battle Proms open-air concert with a commemorative twist.

In memory of those who sacrificed their lives in the First World War cavalry displays will be carried out in battle regalia and an orchestral performance of Lest we Forget, composed for the event will be performed.

On Saturday, August 16 guests are invited to bring a picnic and enjoy musical classics which pay homage to the historical event.

To mark the start of the night's entertainment a pistol salute from an original First World War 13 pounder field gun will take place.

A solo trumpet fanfare will incorporate wartime favourites including, It’s a Long Way to Tipperary, What a Friend We Have in Jesus, Mademoiselle from Armentières before ending with the emotive solo trumpet performance of The Last Post.

The Rockabellas will take to the stage to enact songs made famous during the war.

Gates open 4.30pm with the event ending at 10pm.
