TORY Karen Lumley is hoping to build on her success in the 2010 general election when she unseated a Labour big hitter in Redditch.
Mrs Lumley won the constituency from former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith by taking a majority of 5,821 with 43.5 per cent of the vote.
Ms Smith got 30.3 per cent, the Lib Dems scooped 17.6 per cent and UKIP got 3.4 per cent.
Droitwich falls into the Mid Worcestershire constituency which is a Tory stronghold. Peter Luff won with 54.5 per cent to gain a majority of 15,864, beating the Lib Dems who got 23.4 per cent and Labour’s 14.9 per cent.
Mr Luff has stood down as Mid Worcestershire MP so a new face in Westminster for the area is guaranteed.
