The Primrose Choir continues its sterling work raising funds for the Primrose Hospice Centre of Care. Every year the choir donates thousands of pounds to the hospice.
Nowadays the work of the Hospice extends beyond the original care for cancer patients and now includes services for patients with many life-limiting illnesses. They also give support and wide-ranging assistance to the families of patients. The work of the hospice is very dear to the heart of choir members, some of whom have themselves experienced the help offered. They are, therefore, always keen to support Memorials and other functions arranged by the hospice.
This year the choir changed its summer concert to a spring concert, as usual in Redditch Town Hall. Also as usual the delightful children’s choir from St Mary’s Roman Catholic School, Studley, joined them. They sang a medley of songs from Snow White with Iona Rogers and Chiara Gomeli-Williams as most polished soloists.
The other two public concerts this year are the Primrose Proms on Friday, October 14, and the Christmas Concert on Friday, December 9. This year the proms will take place at Walkwood School in Redditch and the Christmas Concert at the White Hart in Redditch.
The Primrose Choir can sing for any and every occasion from the most serious to the most fun. To book the choir for a club or group or any private family event contact the musical director on 01527 546158.
