REDDITCH'S newly-elected MP has demanded an urgent meeting with Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt to discuss the future of the town's embattled Alex Hospital.
During her first week in Parliament last week Rachel Maclean raised the issue of the Alex Hospital and said she is keen to be move forward with her 12-point plan.
This includes fighting to defend the services the hospital has now and in the future, and ending the uncertainty that the people of Redditch have had to put up with for several years.
Mrs Maclean said: “One of my key priorities is to deliver on pledges and to understand how I, in my new role, can best help the situation to an acceptable conclusion for the good of everyone in the constituency.
“As part of my election campaign I pledged to a 12-point plan for the hospital and I am already starting to work to move that plan forward.”
The new MP will also be looking to progress another key priority, which is to bring together all key stakeholders in Redditch on this critical issue.
