DESPITE the late harvest and threat of restrictions imposed by the recent foot and mouth outbreak, Bromsgrove & District Farmers' Club staged a highly successful family fun day on Saturday.
Visitors to Upper Bentley Farm, near Elcocks Brook, were treated to a ploughing match which attracted 21 entries, a farmers' market, gymkhana and a host of other attractions including craft stalls and trade stands.
Club chairman Stuart Jennings, from Finstall, paid tribute to his hard working committee who due to pressure on their time and the uncertainty over possible foot and mouth restrictions had only had a few days to put the show together.
He also thanked the Gibbs family for use of their land.
