CHILDREN at School House Day Nursery in Beoley got together to say goodbye to youngsters moving on to first school this year - and raised money for charity at the same time.
The nursery would normally do some summer fundraising through its sports day in June but when the bad weather called a halt to events before the end of term, they decided to call the whole thing off.
But another chance presented itself when one of their leavers had to spend a couple of weeks in Birmingham Children's hospital over the summer.
The little boy has now completely recovered but School House Nursery redirected its fundraising efforts to show its gratitude to the hospital, On Saturday, it held a party for leavers with jelly and ice cream as well as hair braiding, face painting and a tombola to raise money.
