THE September meeting was attended by 48 members who were eager to take part in a video taken of them singing Jerusalem, which was hoped would appear on the website soon.
All those who had worked so hard at the Wythall Carnival were thanked and it was hoped more cakes and homemade produce would be supplied next year as the cakes had all been sold soon after the event started.
Members were advised of the autumn council meeting on October 23 and the county harvest festival at Worcester Cathedral on October 7.
Several events to celebrate the 90th birthday of Worcestershire Federation of WIs were being organised, including a dinner at the Three Counties Showground on May 22, 2008 and a service of thanksgiving at Worcester Cathedral on November 23, 2008.
Wythall WI has planned an exhibition in Wythall Library in July.
A bursary will be awarded this year by Wythall WI for a member to attend Denman College and names were forwarded for the draw in November.
Arrangements were in hand for our October meeting to celebrate our 73rd birthday and members were asked to dress in the fashion of the 1950s.
The monthly walk took place around Arrow Valley Country Park. The next walk will be to find the "lost gate" at Studley on Wednesday, September 26.
The speaker was David Wornham, who brought along several pillow cases and two wheelie bins full of different instrumental tubes. There were old coaching and car horns, an alpine horn, cow horns, bugles, Tibetan horn and even horns made from brass and plastic pipes.
