ONLY the fifth and sixth forms of the Redditch County High School were back at school yesterday, the official opening date after the summer holidays.
Mr A Dalton Murray, the headmaster, said that he hoped the rest of the school would start next Wednesday.
"A shortage of labour has held up work in the old block and in the junior block," said Mr Murray.
"But it was decided to bring in the fifth and sixth forms because they could not afford to waste any time before their examinations next year."
After consultations with the architects on Tuesday, 700 letters were sent out giving details of the opening plans.
