REDDITCH employers were waiting for an 11th-hour decision by the town's trade union leaders to find out whether or not any of their workers will support the call for a national one-day strike next week.
The town's 550 National Union of Public Employees (NUPE) members have already voted against working on Wednesday, which will bring virtually all borough council services to a halt.
However, other unions have yet to decide what the action will be, with some union leaders pessimistic about the turnout of their members.
