ALCESTER Amateur Operatic Society will be performing Rodgers and Hammerstein's timeless Oklahoma at the Palace Theatre.
Winner of a special Pulitzer Prize, Oklahoma changed the face of stage musicals when it first opened on Broadway in 1943.
More then 60 years later, this musical still touches the hearts of young and old alike.
Set just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between local farmers and cowboys provides the background for this love story of Curly, a handsome cowboy and Laurey, a farm girl.
Songs include Oh, What a Beautiful Morning, The Surrey With the Fringe of Top, Out of My Dreams, People Will Say We're in Love and Kansas City.
The musical is on Tuesday, September 25 to Saturday, September 29 at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £12 (£38 family ticket) on 01789 763446 or 65203.
