VISITORS to Forge Mill Museum spent the day celebrating and being entertained as part of Heritage Open Days.
The open days, which run annually from September 6-9, featured Victorian needle makers portrayed by members of Redditch Amateur Theatre Society (RATS).
The actors recreated extracts from their musical Eye of a Needle, which is based on the history of needle making in Redditch.
The open air performances, in the shadow of the museum, gave visitors the chance to talk to the actors in character, as well as taking on the challenge of making their own hats like those worn by needle workers in the 19th century.
Children also had a go at replicating some of the needle packet logos from the factory on fridge magnets.
Debbie Lakeman, education officer at the museum, said: "We were really pleased with the success of the day.
"Redditch Amateur Theatre Society and Indigo Arts brought the needle trade alive for visitors."
