CURIOUS residents are being invited to St Mary's Church in Studley on Sunday for an open day to find out what goes on inside the church or Catholicism in general.
Visitors will be able to take part in organised tours of the building or walk around freely by themselves.
There will be a display on the history of the church and other displays by groups and organisations who use the building.
There will also be a show of communion vessels and robes worn by the priest and explanations of some elements of Catholicism such as the rosary and mass.
The aim of the open day is to demystify the Catholic faith and Fr Alex Austin, the resident parish priest, will be around to talk to visitors and answer questions.
For those who wish to take things in by themselves, the chapel will be reserved for prayer and the church grounds will be open with views of the surrounding countryside.
Cream teas and refreshments will be on sale and there will be activities for the children.
The open day will run from 11am-5pm.
