PET owners are being reminded of their responsibilities following the abandonment of a dog.
The reminder, by Stratford-on-Avon District Council, comes after a Rottweiler was found abandoned and chained to a gate at Sambourne Kennels, near Studley.
The dog is currently staying at private rescue kennels near Alcester and is looking to be re-homed.
Sophie Peacock, the district council's animal welfare officer, said: "It's always sad to find animals in this way.
"The owners of this dog obviously didn't want him any more and thought the best thing was to leave him at kennels.
"They clearly couldn't take him in as it's not a rescue centre."
She added: "If anyone is finding it difficult to look after their pet please contact your local animal rescue centre."
The dog, aged between one and two years old, will not be re-homed to a family with children due to him being a stray and having no history.
