THIS album was released on the same day as 50 Cent's Curtis and although they are both hip hop, Kanye's is quite different compared to the Southside King's effort.
While 50 Cent sings about guns and drugs, Kanye raps about how a man can balance power and responsibility. The tunes are a lot more melodic and Mr West is just as comfortable sampling more poppy tracks as he was for his last two albums.
The tone is frequently playful and the lyrics quite goofy at times but there is are some very positive messages to be found on this album.
The single Stronger samples Daft Punk and makes for a very radio friendly song while Homecoming borrows the vocal talents of Coldplay's Chris Martin and will easily get into your head.
Kanye has changed the face of rap by replacing the gangsta with the polo shirt and golf shoes.
Those who are looking for something more street should stick with Curtis but Graduation will have a much wider appeal.
