ACOUSTIC singer-songwriter Damien Rice will coming to the NIA in Birmingham as part of a special nine-date arena tour.
This will be Rice's first full UK tour in three years and will provide the audience with the opportunity to hear tracks from his latest album, 9.
Rice, who has recently been nominated for a Best International Male BRIT Award, wrote, recorded and produced the album as well as designing all of its artwork.
Born in Dublin, Rice first achieved international success with the release of his debut album, O, in 2002.
It spent more then 80 weeks in the UK top 75 Album Chart, and sold more then two million copies worldwide, including one million in the UK.
In 2004, Rice was nominated for both a BRIT Award and NME Award and while in the US became the first UK signed artist ever to be awarded the prestigious Shortlist Music Prize.
In 2005, he and Lisa Hannigan released the single Unplayed Piano in support of the Free Aung San Suu Kyi 60th Birthday Campaign, a global initiative to free the Burmese Nobel Peace Prize recipient.
