CYCLISTS taking part in a 1,000-mile charity ride between John O'Groats and Lands End have been given a £500 boost by a Redditch business.
Pavlo and Dawn Lazri, who run a franchise for disaster restoration specialists called Rainbow International, in Redditch, presented members of the cycling team with a cheque for £520.
Mr Lazri, who helped more than 300 families recover from the recent floods, raised the money by doing a sponsored parachute jump from 13,000 ft.
He said: "The jump was fantastic and I'm grateful to so many of our customers who sponsored me.
"I just thought that if these guys were putting so much effort into raising money for charity by cycling 1,000 miles in 10 days I ought to help them out."
The money will help towards a £50,000 target for the Meningitis Trust.
