DUE to the extensive flood damage to Malt Mill Lane Community Centre, the first meeting after the summer break was held in the Baptist Church Hall.
The speaker for the evening was Linda Barr, of Traidcraft. She gave an interesting illustrated talk about this company whose aim is to make "producers out of poverty".
Her colleague, Mary, then showed members many of the company's products. Members asked many questions before the vote of thanks which was given by Pam Bailey.
Due to the floods the planned outing to Tewkesbury had not taken place but a visit to the Lord Leycester Hospital, Warwick, is to be investigated.
As we are temporarily homeless, our next meeting, which is planned for 7.30pm on October 11, will take place in Globe House. The speaker will be Mike Miles and his subject is The Baron of Packwood.
Visitors are most welcome.
