LIFELONG friends and partners in magic Harry and Karl (David Mitchell and Robert Webb) come to blows and split up their stage act when Karl decides to let Harry's wife dabble with his magic wand.
Both determined to keep the magic alive, Karl tries to establish himself as "Mindmonger" - a self proclaimed clairvoyant with absolutely no psychic abilities while Harry takes on a new magician's assistant Linda (Jessica Stevenson) who he meets through his job at a supermarket.
Harry is determined to enter and win the International Magic Shield competition but without his old buddy, now arch enemy, Karl, it seems the magic just isn't there anymore.
Mitchell and Webb gained fame during the excellent TV series Peep Show and have bought that style of more subtle comedy to Magicians.
This is not a film which will make you split your sides while tears of laughter roll down your face, but it is a thoroughly entertaining film.
