IT was a happy occasion when members met again after the summer break, during which time the senior citizens of Haselor had been entertained at a garden party by WI members at the home of John and Sheila Parr.
Two members had a very stimulating time at Denman College where they had used their WI bursary won at the beginning of the year.
The highlight of the evening was a flower arranging demonstration by Mark, of Alcester Flowers.
He produced a feast for the eyes of four delightful arrangements, one in a glass bowl of apples, a hand tie in lovely autumn colours, a harvest arrangement and one in a basket. Four members were lucky enough to win them in a raffle that followed.
Mark also gave advice on how to look after cut flowers after they had been arranged. He was thanked by Isabel Corbett.
The competition for a floral cup and saucer was won by Jenny Wright, with Audrey Millard second and Anne Goulbourne third.
