OCCASSIONALLY the members of Redditch District Council drop the grave and reverend signorial air and tone, and indulge in a little of that light badinage and facetiousness to which less exalted mortals sometimes lend themselves.
Such an instance occurred on Tuesday night, when a letter was read from Mr A H Clarke, a local photographer, offering a framed group of photographs of the members, to be placed in the Council Chamber.
Mr Haines remarked that: "We shall then see ourselves as others see us," but if the photographs in the group are to be copies of the very flattering portraits recently exhibited in Evesham Street we have to confess our agreement with the chairman's laconic "You won't".
