A TEAM of doctors from Redditch have raised £2,000 for charity by completing a gruelling cycle race.
Under the team name Major and the Medics, Dr Helen Boon, Dr Catriona McLean, Dr Sarah Crawford and Robert Stone took part in a 500-mile relay style cycle in northern Europe.
Cycling 40 to 50 miles a day they travelled through Belgium, France Luxembourg and Germany.
Dr Boon, who works at the Dow Surgery, said: "It was good fun, we really enjoyed it.
"We did it last year and even though the weather was better this time round, it was still hard work.
"The money raised will be split between the charities of the organisers and our own chosen charities, Acorn Hospice and Stop the Traffik.
"We felt these to be two very worthwhile causes, especially Stop the Traffik, which is working to stop the trading of slaves all over the world."
Anyone who would like to sponsor the team or donate money to either of the charities can call Dr Boon on 62285.
