A FAMILY from Crabbs Cross has organised a walk to raise money for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
Joanna Hicking decided to organise the walk as a tribute to her brother, who died from a heart virus in 1993 at the age of 16.
The walk is part of the BHF's Love Walking season which ran throughout September and encouraged people to organise their own walks, big or small, to help them.
Joanna feels the charity is worthy of attention since her father also suffered with his heart, sustaining a heart attack at the age of 47 and the family really valued the support provided by the BHF.
Joanna said: "I know personally the devastation heart disease can cause. It's indiscriminate and can affect anyone of any age.
" I would encourage anyone interested in supporting the vital work of the BHF to get involved and organise their own Love Walking event."
Anyone who would like to organise a charity walk for the BHF can contact its regional office on 0800 1693672.
