POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an incident at the bus station at Redditch's Kingfisher Centre.
A 15-year-old girl was approached by a man who repeatedly pestered her, telling her she was attractive, asking for her telephone number, urging her to go with him, and promising her gifts.
When she tried to move away he took her arm, causing her discomfort, and only letting go when a man shouted at him to leave her alone.
The victim was not injured but was shaken by the incident, which is being treated as assault.
It happened near the number 57 bus stop between 6.15-6.30pm on Tuesday, September 25.
The offender is described as black, aged in his 30s or 40s, with scars on his face, and was carrying a beige and blue rucksack.
Pc Nigel Bennett of Redditch Police appealed for witnesses to come forward, in particular the man who intervened and a woman who walked past on her mobile phone and was heard saying that she thought the girl was in trouble and wondered if she should do anything.
Anyone with information is asked to call Pc Bennett on 08457 444888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
