WITNESSES are being sought following the theft of wood worth £600 from a Redditch firm.
The material, equivalent to 2,000 metres of 2in x 1in wood, was in 5.6 metre lengths and was being stored on a covered pallet in a rear yard at Design Build Exhibitions on the Enfield Industrial Estate.
It was taken some time between 5.30pm on Saturday, September 29 and the morning of Monday, October 1 when the theft was discovered.
A low loader of similar vehicle would have been needed to remove the wood, and it would have left the estate via either Windsor Road or Hewell Road.
Pc Rhian O'Reilly said: "We suspect this theft was carried out on Saturday night and the thieves will have made a fair bit of noise as they also damaged a shackle on an industrial container. It may be that someone working at one of the other units saw or heard something."
Witnesses or anyone with information can call Pc O'Reilly on 08457 444888 extension 3828 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
