YOUNGSTERS are being encouraged to attend an open day and learn how to grow their own food.
Batchley Support Group's Grassroots Allotment Project is aimed at the whole family but wants to encourage children especially to grow food.
The group, which has set up a range of community projects for residents, will be working in partnership with pupils and teachers from Pitcheroak School. At the open day there will be opportunities to learn how to grow organic fruit and vegetables as well as games, refreshments and various stalls.
It is at Bridge Street Allotments, off Britten Street, on Saturday, October 6 between noon and 3pm.
