A NEW play about teenage rebellion with a twist will be coming to the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
Flight Path, by David Watson, focuses on 18-year-old Jonathan.
His father has just left the family home, his mother has a busy career, and Jonathan finds himself torn between alternative worlds - studying and looking after his brother who has Down's syndrome and helping his mate out with a spot of burglary.
Director Naomi Jones said: "One of the exciting aspects of Flight Path is that the central character Jonathan is not your standard drop-out and therefore the play is not your standard teenage rebellion drama.
"He is a middle-class kid, he's expected to do very well academically and go to university.
"Also, I'm aware that the effect of disability on a family is rarely investigated in modern drama."
The show runs from Tuesday, October 9 to Saturday, October 13 and starts at 7.45pm.
Tickets cost £10 (£7.50 concessions) from 0121 236 4455 or www.birmingham-rep.co.uk
