DINGLESIDE Middle School played host to Birmingham's former Poet Laureate when it held a two-day poetry slam.
Children completed workshops with Giovanni Esposito - otherwise known as "Spoz" - writing their own poetry and song lyrics.
The slam was organised through the Colour Free Vision team in an effort to change and re-energize interest in literacy and poetry throughout Worcestershire schools.
Children were challenged to write their own two-minute piece for performance as poetry, rap, R&B vocal melody, garage, or drum and bass lyrics.
All the pieces were performed in groups at the end of the day for fellow pupils.
There is a chance for some of the work to be performed in a regional final being held at the Artrix Theatre in Bromsgrove later in the year.
