THE winning villages in the 2007 Calor Worcestershire Village of the Year competition, including Inkberrow, have been honoured at a presentation event at the Lygon Arms Hotel in Broadway.
The competition is organised by Community First and sponsored by Calor - the UK's leading supplier of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas).
Entrants were judged on four categories covering: Community, Business, Environment and Communications.
Inkberrow was the county's nominee to the 2006/7 national competition and has been presented with a regional category award for the Environment in the West England region.
Representatives of the village attended the county event to receive a framed commemorative certificate and £500 prize money.
The village of Broadway was revealed as the overall winner of the competition back in July, with Catshill the runner up.
Representatives of both villages attended the celebration event where they were presented with their prizes, including framed commemorative certificates, by Ray Brookes representing Calor.
The national Calor Village of the Year judges look for well-balanced, pro-active, caring communities which, irrespective of size, have made the best of local opportunities to maintain and enhance the quality of life for all residents.
