AT the end of the Fullmetal Alchemist television series, Edward Elric sacrifices himself to restore his younger brother Alphonse and is ripped from his own world, Shamballa, into ours.
The two find themselves in Germany in 1923 and uncover a plot to bring war not only to Germany but their own world.
For fans of the television series, this turns out to be a decent movie which nicely brings the story together if not completely to a close.
The voice actors return and the characters are easily recognisable so none of the magic of the series has been lost.
Those who have not watched Fullmetal Alchemist will probably quickly get confused by the parallel worlds and the similar characters appearing in both.
The guide book that comes with the DVD goes some way to explaining some details but those who are really interested should watch the television series first.
