A NEWLY formed netball group from Alcester is looking for new girls to come along and shoot some hoops with them.

The group was formed last Easter by Jamie Hands, 27, from Alcester, after speaking with some of the mums at her children's school, St Nicholas Primary.

"I was speaking to other parents and we wanted to start our own team so that's exactly what I did.

"Since starting, we've gone from strength to strength," she said.

Jamie coaches the team and has made a plea to anyone who is interested in playing to come along and see what they do.

"It's gone really well. We have about 20 or 25 ladies and always have a good giggle.

"Everyone's been fantastic to us. We needed somewhere to play and approached St Nicholas.

"The headteacher Sally Staley has been really helpful," added Mrs Hands.

The group is being sponsored by Salfab Welding & Engineering on Kinwarton Farm Road and is hoping to make it into a league next year.

Any girls over 18 years of age are invited to come along and Jamie can be contacted on 07902 265151.
